Bitcoin (BTC) has regained significant momentum in recent trading, briefly climbing to the $80,000 level after spending months below that threshold. While the cryptocurrency has since pulled back toward $78,000, sentiment among major financial institutions has continued to improve. Several prominent Wall Street firms now believe Bitcoin could cross the $100,000 mark before the end of the year.
Here’s a look at some of the latest institutional price projections and whether Bitcoin has a realistic path toward six figures in the coming months.
Major Financial Firms See Bitcoin Moving Above $100K
Bernstein has one of the more optimistic near-term forecasts, expecting Bitcoin to reach approximately $125,000 by the end of the year. From current levels, that target would require BTC to gain roughly 60%.
The firm also has an ambitious longer-term outlook. Bernstein expects Bitcoin could reach around $150,000 by mid-2027 before potentially advancing toward $300,000 by 2029. Looking even further ahead, the firm has previously outlined a path toward a $1 million Bitcoin valuation by 2033.
This forecast broadly follows Bitcoin’s historically discussed four-year market cycle. Under Bernstein’s scenario, a potential 2029 peak near $300,000 would be followed by another major cycle that could eventually take BTC toward the $1 million level in 2033.

Standard Chartered is similarly constructive. The financial institution has projected that Bitcoin could reach $100,000 before the end of the year and potentially revisit the $126,000 region. Pantera Capital has offered an even more aggressive long-term projection, with its outlook eventually reaching approximately $740,000.
Does Bitcoin Have a Realistic Shot at $100K?
Bitcoin’s recent rebound suggests that bullish momentum may be returning to the market. One potential catalyst was a recent cryptocurrency-focused event at the White House, where President Donald Trump indicated that the United States could acquire a substantial amount of Bitcoin and other digital assets. Such comments may have strengthened investor confidence surrounding the broader crypto market.

Liquidity conditions could also be playing a role. The US Treasury’s increased bond-buyback activity has contributed to additional liquidity in financial markets, and some of that capital may have found its way into risk assets such as cryptocurrencies.
Still, the rally isn’t guaranteed to continue uninterrupted.
Treasury liquidity can shift as quickly as it enters the market. If the US government needs to rebuild its cash balance, financial liquidity could tighten, potentially pressuring Bitcoin and other risk assets.
As a result, Bitcoin could experience another pullback before making a sustained attempt at $100,000. Nevertheless, with several major financial institutions now maintaining six-figure targets, the possibility of BTC reaching $100K by year-end has become a scenario that investors are watching closely.
