Bitcoin Reclaims $65K as Ethereum Approaches $2K: Is Crypto Momentum Building Again?

The cryptocurrency market is showing renewed strength, with Bitcoin (BTC) moving back above the $65,000 mark while Ethereum (ETH) edges closer to the $2,000 level. Recent market performance suggests improving investor confidence, raising questions about whether a broader bullish trend is beginning.

According to recent market data, Bitcoin has posted modest gains over the past 24 hours and has strengthened further over the last week. Ethereum has outperformed Bitcoin over the same period, recording stronger short-term and weekly growth. The positive price action has sparked speculation that the two largest cryptocurrencies could once again lead the market higher.

One of the major catalysts behind the latest rally appears to be softer-than-expected U.S. inflation data for June 2026. A slower pace of inflation has increased expectations that the Federal Reserve could consider lowering interest rates in the coming months. Such a move generally supports higher-risk assets, including cryptocurrencies, by improving overall market sentiment.

However, investors remain cautious. Rising geopolitical tensions involving the United States and Iran have pushed oil prices higher, creating concerns that inflationary pressures could return. If inflation accelerates again, the Federal Reserve may delay interest rate cuts—or even maintain a tighter monetary policy for longer. Historically, higher interest rates tend to reduce demand for speculative investments such as cryptocurrencies.

Can Bitcoin and Ethereum Extend Their Gains?

Bitcoin has experienced significant volatility since reaching its record high of approximately $126,080 in October 2025. Despite the correction that followed, many analysts argue that Bitcoin’s long-term market cycle remains intact.

Historically, Bitcoin has formed major market peaks roughly every four years, with previous cycle highs occurring in 2017, 2021, and 2025. If this pattern continues, the next major peak could emerge around 2029, although a sustained bullish phase may begin well before then, potentially during 2027.

While historical trends can provide useful context, they do not guarantee future performance. Macroeconomic conditions, regulatory developments, institutional investment, and global market sentiment will likely play a significant role in determining whether the current recovery develops into a full-scale bull market.

As always, investors should conduct thorough research and consider the risks before making investment decisions.
