A potential XRP move toward $27 has become a talking point among parts of the crypto community. The idea comes from long-term XRP holder Susan Anderson (@Susan223331), who expects an unusually fast price surge that she describes as a “vertical style black swan.”
It’s an extremely bullish XRP price prediction, and traders are divided over whether the target has a realistic basis or is simply an expression of long-term conviction.
The $27 XRP Thesis
Where the Black Swan Theory Came From

Anderson’s prediction is centered on the idea that XRP could experience a sudden, near-vertical move rather than a gradual rally.
Her description was brief:
“vertical style black swan”
I’m convinced that ripple:native will experience a vertical style black swan.
The price will go straight upwards with no warning.
It will go so high nobody could have ever predicted it.
All shorts will cease to exist from that day.
The world will change and bitcoin will be…

According to the thesis, such a move could put significant pressure on short positions and potentially change the balance of market dominance between XRP and Bitcoin.
There is currently little publicly presented data behind Anderson’s specific $27 target. Beyond her short statement, there does not appear to be a detailed public model explaining exactly how she arrived at that number. For now, the prediction is based largely on her own market conviction.
The Technical Argument for $27
Another analyst, ChartNerd, has offered a chart-based interpretation that points toward much higher XRP prices.
His analysis focuses on a trendline that he argues has played a role in major XRP price movements since 2017. He also notes that XRP has experienced only a small number of historical pullbacks exceeding 70%, with the current cycle included in that group.
The projected levels are structured as a series of milestones:
$8 → $13 → $27
Under this framework, $27 isn’t presented as the immediate target. Instead, it represents the upper end of a potential progression through several major resistance levels.
🚀 $XRP has historically built cyclical baselines across multi-year periods before witnessing HUGE vertical expansion; and this retracement could be one of the largest springs yet 👇🏼

That gives traders specific price areas to watch, even though the eventual outcome remains uncertain.
The Community Is Divided
The $27 prediction has produced very different reactions from XRP holders.
Some supporters believe the token could experience a much larger move than most traders currently expect. Others argue that the available evidence doesn’t justify a $27 valuation and point toward more moderate upside scenarios.
One of the recurring criticisms is straightforward: what specific data supports the $27 figure?
That question remains unanswered by Anderson’s public comments.
Another analyst, Cleo Schmidt, has presented a separate bullish roadmap. Her analysis compares the current XRP setup with parts of the market cycle between 2013 and 2017, a period that preceded an enormous historical rally. Her projected path includes $1.80, $3.20, $6.50, and eventually $13.
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz has also discussed the possibility of XRP eventually surpassing Bitcoin in market capitalization. During an X Space, he said he considered that outcome the more likely of the two scenarios being discussed. Schwartz was involved in the design of the XRP Ledger, although his view does not establish a future price target.
What Would Need to Happen for $27?
The $27 thesis requires XRP to move far beyond the levels that most traders currently use as near-term reference points. That would likely require sustained demand, significant capital entering the market, and a broader crypto environment capable of supporting a major XRP repricing.
For now, the $27 figure remains a speculative long-term target rather than an established forecast.
The interesting part is the range of views around it. Some XRP holders see the possibility of an unusually sharp move, while others remain focused on more conventional price levels.
Whether XRP ever approaches $27 will ultimately depend on market conditions rather than the prediction itself. For now, the “vertical black swan” thesis remains a highly speculative scenario that traders can debate, but not a confirmed outcome.
